Tixel® Q & A

What is Tixel®?

Sakura Aesthetics is proud to be the first and only provider of Tixel 2 in Hawaii. This innovative technology utilizes thermomechanical action (TMA) to safely rejuvenate all skin types, eliminating the need for lasers, needles, or harsh chemicals. Instead,

Tixel gently applies controlled heat through a titanium tip to create precise microchannels in your skin. The process triggers your body’s natural healing response, boosting collagen and elastin production for smoother, firmer, and more youthful-looking skin. Treatments typically take about 60 minutes for the face and neck, or 30 minutes for the eyes, with minimal downtime, allowing you to resume your routine quickly.

How does Tixel work?

Tixel combines controlled heat and motion using a medical-grade titanium alloy tip made up of tiny, pyramid-shaped pins. As the tip briefly touches your skin’s surface, it transfers thermal energy without breaking the skin barrier.

The nonlaser technology produces results comparable to traditional laser resurfacing but with far less discomfort, downtime, and risk of pigmentation changes.

What areas can Tixel treat?

Tixel is highly versatile and can treat multiple areas, including the:

  • Forehead
  • Under eyes
  • Mid-face
  • Upper and lower lips
  • Chin
  • Neck
  • Décolleté
  • Hands

It’s also effective for nonsurgical eyelid lifting, neck tightening, wrinkle reduction, and improving acne, acne scars, rosacea, and hyperpigmentation.

How many Tixel treatments will I need?

For optimal rejuvenation, most patients benefit from a series of three treatments spaced about one month apart. Acne treatments may require additional sessions since the settings are lower and more gradual.

How much downtime is expected after Tixel treatment?

Because Tixel leaves the skin’s outermost layer intact, recovery is minimal. You can typically wear makeup after 24 hours and return to your usual activities the same day.

What are the benefits of Tixel?

Tixel offers the following benefits:

  • Noticeable wrinkle and pore reduction
  • Improved tone, texture, and pigmentation
  • Minimal discomfort and downtime
  • No lasers, needles, or radiation
  • Safe for all skin types, including melasma and acne-prone skin

Tixel can also treat delicate areas like under your eyes and lash lines.

What results can I expect with Tixel?

You’ll begin noticing smoother, brighter skin within 7–10 days as collagen production increases. Results continue to improve over 4-6 weeks and last even longer with periodic maintenance treatments every 6-12 months.
